Focus on
China
A.Celli Shanghai was established in a move to
offer a high level of service and support to
A.Celli’s expanding client base in China and to
further extend business operations in the fast
growing Chinese market. The first step was to set
up a sales and marketing office in Shanghai and
recruit reliable, local staff who are dynamic and
customer driven to represent both A.Cellis’paper
and nonwovens businesses in the region. Since
its establishment in 2001 and under the management of Chang Chun (Calvin) Liu, A.Celli
Shanghai has significantly augmented sales in
China. While increasing sales, Calvin Liu and the
specialized team working at the offices in
Shanghai have built up long-term business relationships with many of China’s leading paper
and nonwovens producers.
Leading Chinese companies such as ES
Fiber Co., Ltd., PGI China, Nanning Sugar
Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Ruiguang Non-wovens Group, Jofo Group Co., Ltd., Piaoan
Group, Shandong Kanjie Nonwovens Co., Ltd.,
New Zhong Tian Group, Simao Nonwovens
Co. Ltd., Hangmin Nonwovens Co. Ltd., and
Fujian Nanfang Co., Ltd. entrust in the compe-tencies of Calvin Liu and his administrative
and technical staff to deliver top quality, cost
effective machinery solutions and comprehensive sales and post-sales service. The team at
the Shanghai office consists of 10 people.
Business and administrative staff include:
Karen Wang, business manager; Leo Xiang,
sales manager and mechanical engineer; and
Julie Wu, management assistant. William Chen,
project coordinator and purchasing execution,
Tom Zhang, mechanical engineer and electrical
engineers Min Qian and John Yi, form the technical team. Massimo Lamioni from the A.Celli
Nonwovens headquarters in Italy has recently
joined the team and is now permanently based
in Shanghai. The outstanding business partnerships, built on providing excellence in terms
of products, services and assistance created by
the A.Celli Shanghai team have ensured that
customers return to A.Celli for repeat machinery orders.
Another significant step
taken has been to develop a
machinery manufacturing
base in China. As well as
offering technical support
and customer service, A.Celli
Shanghai is now capable of
offering full scale component
manufacturing. The approach
is customer oriented and
therefore endeavors to deliver what customers need, not
what A.Celli has to offer. In
this respect, A.Celli’s manufacturing capabilities in

Manufacturing Capabilities
China enable the company to reduce costs and
remain competitive in a market particularly sensitive to the quality/price ratio. As the nonwovens industry in China continues to evolve it is
looking for new and sophisticated machinery
with increasing importance given to high-quality products. Local producers are demanding
more sophisticated technology and seek to
invest in state-of-the-art technology.
Furthermore, Western companies investing in
sites in China expect the
same approach and performance from these lines
as those that they operate
outside of Asia. A.Celli
Shanghai continues to
promote A.Celli’s competitive advantages which
remain creativity, quality
and know-how and has
made a significant contribution to extending the
company’s creative and
innovative leadership in
this region.
